Our
"Sun Earth" collectors operate very efficiently and cost
effectively in our climate and conditions. These flat plate collectors
are reasonable in cost to manufacturer, operate well in direct sun
in clear weather, and produce optimum heat under local conditions
in a well-configured system. Contact
us for order information.
Surrounded
by an aluminum case and a low iron glass cover and backed by a rugged
insulating layer, the heart of the collector is an extruded aluminum
and copper absorber with a selective coating. Our collectors offer
high efficiency at reasonable cost for prairie and mountian conditions.
The selective coating is as thin as several molecules. It allows
the shorter light wavelengths to penetrate, but blocks the infrared
from re-radiating from the collector once the sun's energy has been
absorbed as heat. More energy is transferred to the system, because
this type of collector efficiently absorbs the sun's energy. This
efficiency makes thermo-solar a good investment in relation to other
solar energy technologies and compares favourably with the costs
associated with non-renewable sources of energy in some situations.
Heat
transfer fluid becomes heated in the collector and is pumped to
a remote heat exchanger which transfers this heat to a storage tank
containing a storage medium, usually water. Phase Change Materials
or PCM's may also store heat in a more compact volume - between
1/4 to 1/10 of water only. A pump powered by solar energy is often
used in conjunction with differential controls to regulate the collection
of solar energy. The controls measure the difference in temperature
between the collector and the heat storage and operate the pump
when the temperature in the collector rises above that of the storage.
Once
the heat is stored in the tank, there is hot water for domestic
use or for space heating or industrial processes. Your Energy Company
Inc. specializes in creating efficient systems for the collection
and distribution of solar energy with an emphasis of systems which
combine the collection of solar energy for both domestic water heating
and space heating.
